Top Five Monuments In Delhi
Delhi is home to a plethora of monuments from various periods, from Lodi Dynasty to the Mughals. Here are top five monuments that are great for a family outing or with your friends. Moreover, don't forget to bring your cameras as you will find several picturesque spots as well as wildlife and birds.
1. Humanyun's Tomb
Humanyun's Tomb near Nizamuddin is a fine example of Mughal architecture and one of my favorite place to spend cold winter mornings. 2. Sunder Nursery
Sunder Nursery is Delhi's first arboretum and home to several UNESCO World Heritage monuments including the Sunder Burj. The complex is huge with a variety of natural elements from lotus ponds to a beautiful lake, from wilderness to a wetland. This is also a great place to go picnic. 3. Qutub Minar
One of the most popular monuments in Delhi and our favorite winter picnic spot. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a must visit for all. This monument was built by the founder of Delhi and is the tallest brick tower in the world. Plus, the beautiful work on the body of the tower will leave you spellbound. 4. Hauz Khas Fort
Tucked amidst the bustling lanes of the Haus Khas Village resides a 13th century stone fortress. This fortress is also home to a reservoir and next to which is Delhi's beloved Deer park. 5. Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid is the largest mosque in India and the crown of Old Delhi, which was the capital of Mughal sultanate. It is located in Chandini Chowk and is a must-visit when in Old Delhi.
